Shopware plugin "ReviewForest Widget" by webpiloten is being discontinued
The free Shopware plugin “ReviewForest Widget - Gutes tun und mehr Bewertungen erhalten” (German for “do good and get more reviews”) by webpiloten will be discontinued on 31 October 2026. On 28 September 2026, Shopware emailed every store that has it installed. That email only uses the technical name “Spno6ReviewForest” (article number Spno791162667981f for Shopware 6, Spno199993932894f for Shopware 5). Both names refer to the same plugin.
We did not build this plugin. It comes from webpiloten, a Shopware agency in Dortmund, Germany (a brand of bitpiloten GmbH & Co. KG). webpiloten has stopped developing it for economic reasons, and Shopware has removed it from the store.
What the plugin does
Section titled “What the plugin does”The plugin shows our tree counter on every page of your store and loads the numbers from our servers. Version 1.1.0 added a forest widget element for Shopping Experiences. That is all it does.
Technically it still relies on the tree counter from our first widget generation. Because of that, it cannot show the carousel widget, the badges or the new tree counter from Widget V2. See Upgrade your widgets to Widget V2 for what V2 does differently.
What changes on 31 October 2026
Section titled “What changes on 31 October 2026”- webpiloten will no longer provide support or updates.
- The installed version keeps running. Nothing changes on our side on that date, the tree counter stays visible in your store.
- The risk comes with your next Shopware update. Nobody will adapt the plugin to new Shopware versions anymore. We know of one case where plugin version 1.6.0 took a store down after the update to Shopware 6.7.
What we recommend
Section titled “What we recommend”Switch to our current widgets before your next major Shopware update. They need no plugin, just two lines of code, and are included in every plan. The switch doubles as your widget upgrade: the V2 tree counter loads faster and can be matched to your store’s colors. You can add the carousel and badges while you are at it. The widget overview shows what is available.
- Check Extensions > My extensions in your Shopware admin to see whether “ReviewForest Widget” by webpiloten is installed.
- Get your widget code from your ReviewForest account under Website Widgets.
- Add it following this guide: How to integrate ReviewForest widgets in Shopware 6. It also explains how to show a widget on all pages at once via the theme, which is what the plugin has done so far.
- Then deactivate and uninstall the webpiloten plugin.
- Clear the cache under Settings > System > Caches & indexes and check your store.
Still on Shopware 5? The widget code is the same, only the place where you add it differs. We do not have a dedicated guide for that yet, so just email us at [email protected]. Guides for other platforms, for example a WordPress blog next to your store, are collected under Install a ReviewForest Widget.
