How to Change Your Google Review Link

Dieser Inhalt ist noch nicht in deiner Sprache verfügbar.

In most cases the automatic Google review link works without any change. You only need this guide if one of the following applies to you:

  • Nested location: Your business is housed inside another building or institution (for example a school inside an academy, a practice inside a medical center, a stand on a campus). In these cases Google sometimes does not recognize the location independently, and the default review link does not open the review form.
  • The “Write a review” button does not work: If you or test customers click the review button on your review forest and nothing happens, that is a typical sign of this exact issue.
  • You want to use a custom Google review link for other reasons.

ReviewForest accepts only the short link that Google itself generates, in the format:

https://g.page/r/YOUR-BUSINESS-ID/review

Other links (for example a Google search URL or a Google Maps URL) are rejected when you try to save. The g.page short link is only available to you if you can access the Google Business Profile as an admin.

  1. Sign in: Log in to your ReviewForest account and go to Review forests.

  2. Open the review forest settings: Pick the relevant review forest, click “More Features” > “Change Google review link”.

  3. Get the review link from Google:

    • Open Google in a new browser tab
    • Search for your business
    • Make sure you are signed in as an admin of your Google Business Profile
    • Click “Ask for reviews”
    • Google shows you a short link in the format https://g.page/r/.../review
  4. Copy the link: Copy the review link Google displays. Important: it must be the g.page/r/.../review link, no other format works.

  5. Paste and save:

    • Switch back to your ReviewForest account
    • Paste the Google review link into the input field
    • Confirm the change

What if I do not have admin access to the Business Profile?

Section titled “What if I do not have admin access to the Business Profile?”

Google only generates the g.page short link for admins of the respective Google Business Profile. If your location is run under a third-party host (an academy, a university, a shared coworking space), you have two options:

  1. Request co-management from the host: The host organization can add you as an additional owner of the Business Profile. Once you have admin access, you can generate the link yourself.
  2. Ask the host for the link: If co-management is not possible, ask the host to send you the g.page/r/.../review link from their Business Profile.
